1. US Cremonese was founded in a trattoria in 1903 as a multisport club, only taking up football in 1910.
2. They were founder members of Serie A in 1929, but were instantly relegated. Their only stay of longer than a year in the top flight since then occurred in the mid-1990s.
3. Gianluca Vialli is a Cremona local and began his career at the club before moving on to Sampdoria to form a famous strike partnership with Roberto Mancini.
4. Surprisingly, Cremonese have won at Wembley. They claimed the now defunct Anglo-Italian Cup in 1993 with victory over Derby County in the final.
5. The Grigiorossi are friendly with Sant’Angelo, Reggiana and Vicenza; their biggest rivals are Piacenza, against whom the contest the “Derby of the Po”.

3. Cremona is world-famous for its luthiers (makers of stringed instruments) The most famous was Antonio Stradivari, whose creations are normally known as “Strad” or “Stradivarius”.
4. In 2019, the Museum of the Violin closed down part of the city for five weeks in order to perfectly record the sounds that its historic instruments make for eternity.
