1. Paços began as the amateur Sport Club Pacense before going professional as FC Vasco Da Gama in 1950.
2. They were promoted to the Portuguese top flight for the first time in their history in 1991.
3. The Beavers have reached the finals of both Portuguese cup competitions, losing to Porto in 2009 and Benfica in 2011.
4. Two years later, they achieved a record 3rd place league finish under Paulo Fonseca to enter the Champions League qualifying stage for the first time.
5. Their biggest European success to date was defeating Tottenham 1-0 in the inaugural Europa Conference League. They lost the return leg 3-0 in London.

1. The “Citania de Sanfins” is an important archaeological site dating back to Ferreira’s Celtic origins.
2. After being granted administrative autonomy in the 19th century, the population boomed.
3. Modern Paços is synonymous with furniture, a link that began with the work of a local teacher called Albino de Matos, who created a set of instruments used to instruct geometry.
4. The factory producing these instruments grew rapidly and branched out into domestic furniture, leading the city to become known as the “Capital of Furniture”.
5. To mark the importance of this industry, the “Monument to the Carpenter” was erected in 1997.
