1. Clubs existed in Troyes prior to 1986. One iteration, “ASTS”, even reached the final of the Coupe de France in 1956.
2. The current club began as “ATAC”, but was forced to change its name by a supermarket with the same name.
3. Although they have managed to claim an Intertoto cup victory (beating Newcastle), their only run in a major European competition was ended early by Leeds in 2001.
4. ESTAC were bought by the City Group, whose flagship side is Manchester City, in 2020.
5. The “C” in ESTAC stands for “Champagne”, the region where Troyes is located. Their match against Reims is known as the “champagne derby”.
