2. The “crystal palace” after which the club is named was constructed in Hyde Park for the 1851 Great Exhibition, before being moved to South London. It was made of iron and glass.
3. Palace played a friendly against the legendary Real Madrid side of 1962, losing 4-3.
4. They have reached the FA Cup final twice, but lost to Manchester United on both occasions.
5. Rivals Charlton and Wimbledon are former tenants of their ground, Selhurst Park.
