1. The club was initially called St. Domingo’s FC, after a Methodist church; the players were from its congregation.
2. Founder members of the league, they have competed in the most English top flight seasons.
3. Although Everton is named after the Everton district of Liverpool, they have never played there. The tower on the badge, the “Everton Lock-Up”, was a place to hold drunks and criminals before trial.
4. Dixie Dean scored 60 league goals for the Blues in the 1927/1928 season, a record that will probably never be beaten.
5. Stanley Park is all that separates Goodison Park from Anfield, Liverpool’s historic home.

1. Liverpool was founded in 1207, but really began to grow in the 18th century when goods started arriving here from the West Indies.

4. The ill-fated “Titanic” and “Lusitania” cruise liners were both registered in the city.
