LA LIGA WEEK 6 HIGHLIGHTS WEEK 7 HIGHLIGHTS
Barca turned things around this week with a couple of victories, but Messi is out injured again just after coming back. Real and Atletico battled to a goalless draw in the Madrid derby after midweek wins; this leaves Real top of the table after Sociedad and Athletic both missed the chance to lead after losing to Sevilla and Valencia respectively at the weekend. Granada continued their excellent early season form to sit second on 14 points, while Villarreal knocked in 5 against Betis after losing to Barca. At the bottom of the table, things are looking worrying for Leganes, Mallorca and Espanyol, with Celta a solitary point clear of the drop zone.

SERIE A WEEK 5 HIGHLIGHTS WEEK 6 HIGHLIGHTS
Inter Milan made it six wins from six as Conte’s charges continued their ominous early season form, but Juve are hanging onto their coattails; the top two are up against each other this coming weekend. Strong away wins at Roma and Sassuolo saw third-placed Atalanta return to free scoring form after their early season jitters, while Napoli lie fourth after a shock loss in Sardinia. Cagliari are up to seventh, just behind the two capital clubs in fifth and sixth. Fiorentina had a great week climbing out of danger as Franck Ribery excelled in the San Siro, condemning the 16th-placed Rossoneri to their worst start to a season since the 1930s. SPAL and Samp are at the foot of the table with 3 points apiece.

BUNDESLIGA HIGHLIGHTS
Leipzig were unceremoniously knocked off top spot as David Wagner’s Amine Harit inspired Schalke dominated in a 3-1 win at the Red Bull Arena. Bayern were made to sweat for a 3-2 away win at lowly Paderborn as Lewandowski made it 10 in 6 matches, a new Bundesliga record. Monchengladbach and Bayer enjoyed solid away victories to stay in touch, while Freiburg left it late before claiming the points in Dusseldorf to move up to third. Hertha, Wolfsburg and Eintracht also won on the road, with Borussia Dortmund the only home side not to lose, drawing 2-2 with Bremen. The Koln and Hoffenheim managers will be feeling the pressure to turn things around quickly, as will Mainz boss Sandro Schwarz, who became the first manager in Bundesliga history to be given a red card.

LIGUE 1 WEEK 7 HIGHLIGHTS WEEK 8 HIGHLIGHTS
Neymar took a break from papering over the PSG cracks as they fell to Reims at home, before scoring the winner in Bordeaux on Kylian Mbappe’s return. Lyon are officially in crisis after taking just a solitary point against Brest and Nantes, the latter flying high in 3rd place with Angers a shock 2nd after four points from two matches. Monaco have finally woken up, scoring seven times in two games to garner six points and move out of the relegation zone. St Etienne managed a win in Nimes after falling to Metz, whilst Lille, Nice, Marseille and Rennes are all staying in the mix at the top. Dijon just aren’t cutting the mustard this season, and remain bottom.
