LA LIGA HIGHLIGHTS
Sevilla moved to the top of the standings courtesy of a 1-0 win at Alaves as Atletico’s time basqueing at the summit ended in defeat to Sociedad. Elsewhere, Valencia’s new boss failed to prevent his side’s demolition at the hands of Barca with 16-year-old prodigy Ansu Fati once again on the scoresheet. Real did their best to throw away a three goal lead but held on for a 3-2 win over Levante. The Yellow Submarine sunk Leganes 3-0 away as Celta, reduced to nine men in the first half, succumbed to Granada at Balaidos. Espanyol won at Eibar and the remaining 3 fixtures ended in run of the mill draws.

SERIE A HIGHLIGHTS
Antonio Conte remains in first place in the battle to see who will be the best ex-Chelsea manager with his newly resilient Inter maintaining their 100% record. Ancelotti’s Napoli recovered from their disappointment against Juve with victory over Samp, while Juve’s newly recovered (from pneumonia) Sarri saw his side drop points in Florence. Zapata’s last minute screamer saw Atalanta pick up 3 points in Genoa. Roma saw off Sassuolo, but city rivals Lazio fell again to their SPAL bogeymen. Elsewhere, Milan ended Hellas Verona’s unbeaten start and there were excellent away wins for Lecce, Cagliari and Bologna.

BUNDESLIGA HIGHLIGHTS
Table toppers Leipzig fought back to secure a 1-1 draw against Bayern, while Dortmund put their shock slip-up against Union behind them in a 4-0 dismantling of Leverkusen. Union fell at home to the undefeated Wolves while the Foals bettered the Billy Goats in the Rhineland derby. David Wagner got more goals in a game than he normally got in a month at Huddersfield as Schalke smashed Paderborn 5-1. Freiburg humbled Hoffenheim 3-0 away in the Baden-Wurttemberg derby. Elsewhere, Mainz got their first points on the board, Augsburg downed the Eagles and Fortuna and Werder shared the spoils.

LIGUE 1 HIGHLIGHTS
Neymar was harangued by the PSG faithful on his return but clinched the points with a late overhead stunner. Lyon’s profligacy cost them in Amiens. Osimhen continued his impressive start in another Lille victory. Nicolas who? Monaco were undone by a Marseille comeback in a 4-3 goalfest that leaves them in the relegation zone again. Second-placed Rennes were held at Brest in the Breton derby while Nantes moved up to third thanks to a strong Coulibaly finish. Elsewhere, there were home wins for Montpellier and Girondins, while both Dijon vs Nimes and St Etienne vs Toulouse ended up level.
